Should I purchase shipping insurance?

While the buyer pays for shipping, if your item is lost in transit, Studio Mariée is not held liable. We recommend purchasing shipping insurance in case your item is lost or damaged in transit.

Buyers pay for shipping at Studio Mariée. Although unlikely, items can be lost, stolen, or damaged in transit. If this happens, Studio Mariée will not be able to send payment to the seller as we will need to refund the buyer for not receiving their item.

If you'd like to purchase insurance or aren't sure, we will provide you with an estimated cost of the insurance based on your item's weight and value. We will not be able to provide an exact cost of the insurance as it will also depend on the location of the buyer. Insurance will be deducted from the final price of your listing. 

To provide base estimates:

• Insurance will cost roughly $125.00 to ship an item valued at $10,000 from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA with a signature required upon delivery. 
• Insurance will cost roughly $12.50 to ship an item valued at $1,000 from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA with a signature required upon delivery. 
• Insurance will cost roughly $6.50 to ship an item valued at $500 from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA with a signature required upon delivery.
